Lost Ark: 7 points that players are most likely to ignore

There are many great things in Lost Ark that players weren't aware of.

Lost Ark is an MMORPG that is currently sweeping the world and making almost everyone put all their time into it. There are many different reasons for this, from the availability of general combat, the constant free loot drops, or of course, the sheer amount of endgame content like Chaos Dungeons or Guardian Raids that everyone seems to be praising.

But another major factor is that Lost Ark has a million different things that the player can do at any given moment. Whether managing a stronghold, collecting island tokens, grinding rapport, or just completing side quests, each player has a choice. And because of this, many little systems or tricks fail and remain largely or entirely inexplicable. So let's check out a number of the most helpful and wonderful items Lost Ark players never know they're able to do.

7. LITTLE LIFE HACKS

Let's start with a category of useful things, not just one piece of advice. This category includes all those little UI and quality of life elements that most gamers don't know about and end up hearing from friends or reading about online. There are probably a hundred such tips, but here are just a few:

  • Holding Ctrl + mouse wheel changes the appearance of the mouse pointer without the need for the settings menu, although players will have to go into accessibility options to change the pointer size.
  • Holding the Middle Mouse Button and moving the mouse while the Expanded Map is displayed. Up (Tab) will allow the player to move that map across the screen, allowing players to see the entire map at any time without completely obscuring their character (although many other UI elements also do this) ).
  • The Sun/Moon icon in the upper right corner of the minimap allows the player to change its transparency, as well as the transparency of the Extended Map

A setting in the Combat and Display section changes Auto Move to follow the mouse cursor instead of the character's direction so that players can move long distances without constantly clicking the mouse.

Again, there are so many little hacks like this that longtime players know about, and they all add up to improve the daily Lost Ark experience significantly, so stay tuned.

6. YOU CAN "LOCK" ITEMS

By now, most players have probably already figured out that they can use Alt + Left Click to lock an item in their inventory from being sorted, so it doesn't move when they sort their bag. However, so many people are missing the "Lock" feature is entirely different for some reason. To see this, players need only Ctrl+Right-Click an element to open an advanced options menu for it.

This dropdown has a Block option which makes the item untradable, disassemblable, and primarily non-interactive. However, this has the disadvantage that once items are unlocked, it takes an hour before they can be interacted with again, meaning it's probably not the best idea to lock armor sets currently in use, as it prevents their honed.

5. DISABLE FRIENDLY PARTICLE EFFECTS ASAP

Let's be honest. Lost Ark is a very chaotic game. Every playable class in this MMO has multiple particle effects with every move, and the bosses have even more. So when all of these particle effects are lumped into one place during Abyssal Dungeon or something like that where enemy telegraphs decide life or death, it becomes a real problem.

Luckily, there's a way to make this less difficult (for most). Again, there is a dropdown for Combat Effect Display under the Combat and Display Settings tab with several options. It's best to set this to "Enable party member buffs" so players can tell when they're being shielded or healed by a Paladin, Ranged, or Bard. But for those who prefer to see only their effects and not anyone else's, "Show only opponents" should help make combat more responsive.

4. AUTO DISPLAY HUB TRADE SKILL

Like most MMOs, Lost Ark has various trading skills, from mining to fishing. But unique to Lost Ark, which replaces the standard Skill Bar at the bottom of the screen. By default, this lane automatically appears every time the player starts collecting weeds, cutting down trees, or mining ore. This would be nice, except that many of the best trading skill areas are surrounded by pesky enemies that will interrupt the progress bar.

Luckily, also in the Combat and display settings is the ability to disable this auto-appearing aspect of the HUD Trade Skill so that players have to invoke it instead of auto-disabling it purposefully. This is a huge change in usability, although finding relics with Sonar and Relic Finding is easier. Just a little more tedious. Although, to be honest, Lost Ark has a decent list of such small changes that are still badly needed.

3. WHAT HAPPENS WHEN MY SHIP SINKS?

It's exhilarating when players first set sail from Luterra to Anikka. Suddenly, the entire world of Arkesia has opened up, and players are free to explore every little island that interests them along the way. But to give sailing some value, Lost Ark informs players that their ship will be in big trouble if it runs out of power in the middle of a journey.

But, as it turned out, there is nothing to worry about. Flooding in the middle of a voyage gives the player's ship a "Sanded" state of affairs. Durability cannot be lost in this state, and players can swim as much as they want! The only catch is that they will need to repair their ship at any big port to land.

2. CHAOS FARM DUNGEONS

Another little piece of common knowledge that's strangely slipped out of sight when it comes to Lost Ark's mountains of guides is the fact that Chaos Dungeons can be farmed indefinitely. Each day, players receive one hundred Leap Essence to use in Chaos Dungeons, with each run taking fifty (two total). But just because the entity has disappeared doesn't mean the player can't go back.

Completing the Chaos Dungeon without Leap Essence drops a different amount of Lost Ark items. Enemies drop Disorder Crystals, Perception Shards, a small amount of Honing Materials and Accessories instead of Armor Set Elements, Accessories, and Armor/Weapon Sharpening Materials. These shards of perception, in particular, can be exchanged at the NPC vendor near the Chaos Dungeon gate for various things, including armor/weapon sharpening materials!

1. REFRESHING POTION IN GUARDIAN RAIDS

This last piece of tips is critical for all those of you who. Monster Hunter-style fights against the canonical defenders of Arcesia start at different difficulty levels. Things get incredibly difficult to even in the second Guardian Raid tab, and players may wonder how they can even defeat these Guardians without coming back when they level up significantly.

The most common reason is the reluctance to use combat items. This is hammered into the head of every player. So many guides urged players to save all of their battle item chests and potions for later content but never specified when exactly.

Also, so many players are completely unaware that they can also upgrade their potions during a Guardian Raid! Once the player runs out of a maximum of four potions to use, return to the spawn point. This small circle of golden energy is a safe area where players can switch their combat items between sets or switch skill/tripod point distribution. Still, it also automatically refills their four potions. (if they have at least four more in stock).

Don't keep fighting a Guardian at ten percent health without potions. Instead, let the group know, come back, restock, and come back without losing any of those precious respawn counters.
