4 tips to beginners for breaking into the Lost Ark

In this post, you will find instructions, tips, and life hacks that you should pay attention to before releasing the game. They will help you not get lost in the classes, pump the right skills, and comfortably spend your first days in LOST ARK.

Tip 1. Class Selection

There are no classic healers and supports in LOST ARK - all characters are focused on dealing damage. At the beginning of the game, you choose an archetype. In the future, it will allow you to choose one of three classes unique to that archetype. A detailed description of all classes and archetypes can be found on the game's official website, but now let's look at which classes are good for beginners and which are contraindicated.

Good classes for beginners:

• Ranger. Universal guy. Good mobility and the ability to keep the target at a distance give an advantage in the PvP arena. It can deal a lot of damage both in the area and on a single target, thanks to which it copes well with a crowd of monsters and does not suffer on bosses.

• Summoner. Lives and kills at the expense of summoned creatures. She is quite frail, so you can't let enemies get close - but it's not difficult either because there are summoned creatures and a large attack range (one of the longest in the game). The abilities are easy and do a lot of damage, and the creatures do not require much control.

• Guardian. This is a traditional tank. Focuses on protecting and controlling the opponent with the help of abilities. He is not easy to play as a ranger and a summoner, but thanks to his survivability, he performs very well in PvP 1v1 (and in team battles, he strengthens allies with buffs). Guardians are one of the best fighters for the arena. Such a dense comrade will be comfortable in a fight with other players and crowds of monsters.

Not recommended for beginners:

• Arcanologist. A sorcerer who uses a deck of 12 cards to gain bonuses and upgrades in combat. The complexity of this class is that cards fall out randomly when attacking. Because of this, you need to adapt well to the dropped card and the situation in battle. The archeologist is difficult to master, but it is a strong class with powerful enemy control potential in the right hands.

• Demon Hunter. Fights with three types of weapons - each for its distance. Pistols are the main weapon for the medium range. There is also a shotgun and a sniper rifle. Additional guns have their own set of abilities - four for each. And between them, you need to switch to collect combinations. Simple arithmetic suggests that the hunter has twice as many active abilities as other classes (8 standards + 8 from two guns). This mobile class feels great in the arena and farming monsters for leveling, but the basic mechanics are difficult for beginners.

• Avatar. It does not deal much damage but is very handy and has a lot of control abilities. These qualities are useful in the arena but can easily turn into disadvantages when leveling on large monsters. Due to such ambiguity, it is better not to take the Avatar as the first character.

Tip 2. Pumping

Getting to the top level in LOST ARK (there will be 50 of them at release) is not such a difficult task, but on the way to the top, you can mess up and spoil your enjoyment of the game in the later stages.

Pumping to the maximum level takes from 20 hours. Of course, the first thing you want to know is how to reduce this time. The game allows you to skip entire locations and go only on story missions. This way, you can save 4-5 hours of playing time, but at the same time, there is a great chance to miss something very important. Circumstances may turn out so that your hero does not get the ultimate ability (very strong and unique for each class). By completely abandoning side quests, you will lose a lot of stat points that would make your character faster, stronger, and so on.

Bottom line: skipping a lot of tasks and locations is harmful. This will speed up the pumping but will harm the character. Clearing all locations by 100% is also not a panacea - this way, you will hook all the available content, but you will lose a lot of time, which should not be allowed (we aim for the tops!). If you are a perfectionist, it is better to do this after reaching level 50.

To avoid wasting time and swing fast and correctly, at the beginning of the game, follow the orange quest - this is the main storyline that will lead you on the right path. As soon as you get the opportunity to swim, you can forget about the orange quest. Now your road of adventure is connected with the globes leading you across the continents. Along the way, do not forget to complete additional tasks to receive characteristic points.

Tip 3. Skills

As you level up, you will earn skill points and use them to upgrade your skills. You can allocate skill points to fine-tune the class to suit your preferences. But it would be best if you were careful with this because you can reset the distributed points only for a tidy sum of Lost Ark currency silver, which can always be spent on something more useful.

Until level 20, you will have enough damage to go through the starting locations so that you can leave the skills until this moment. Then the damage will no longer be enough, but you will already have an idea of \u200b\u200bwhat your character needs. Focus on skills with low cooldowns to continuously use on groups of monsters. The skills should deal with area damage. But don't forget to leave room for a couple of slow but powerful abilities - they will come in handy for killing bosses.

By level 38, a training mode will open, where you can, oddly enough, work out. The main thing is that unlocked abilities are available in this mode. We burst into training and try everything that is. We pay attention to the animation speed of abilities, take fast ones for more effective pumping on monsters, and treat slow ones with attention, respect, and apprehension.

Tip 4. Professions

As the hero develops, the game will prompt you to choose one of six professions - this is another potential trap. Here the situation is similar to skills, but to change professions, you need crystals that can be obtained for game achievements and real money.

If you are ready to immerse yourself in the study of the craft and spend a lot of time gathering, choose boldly. If you want to get a high-level and effective character as quickly as possible, leave the choice of profession for later, she will not run away anywhere.

What to do after reaching the maximum level?
  • For those who want to compete, there is a direct road to the PvP arena, where you can show your best side at the Rally (Guardians rule, remember?). If one is not interested and wants more tactics, assemble a team and go to 3v3 mode.
  • Don't like PvP? Then you are in the dungeons, where, together with other players, you can mix enemies to your heart's content in exchange for new equipment. Another fan of PvE will like the fights with the Guardians - the most difficult bosses in the game.
  • •When you want to take a break from the eternal battle, go explore the sea and the islands, upgrade your profession, or roam the world, digging into side quests.
